My Granddaughter Broke Her Leg
Last Monday, my granddaughter Bethany, who lives with us,broke her leg. She stepped in a rut on a dirt path coming back to our Summer trailer from the lake. Finally, after a lot of pain, she went to the hospital....she just couldn't believe it was broken. Today I took her to the surgeon to see what he though needed to be done. He is going to try a boot cast.
She cannot put her foot down to walk and has to use crutches. She is in a lot of pain.
She can't work for at least a week and only has 35 hours sick leave. She has two part time jobs....one as a clerk at a hotel and the other at Big Lots. Big Lots doesn't give them any sick leave at all. Of course we live in a two story house with a lot of small step stairs and the bath tub and showers are upstairs....also her bedroom. She has to crawl up the stairs. I feel so sorry for her.
This is the best smile she could come up with.

The doctor says he hopes it will heal in six weeks, but it might take a little longer.
